A hair design is shape cut into the short part of a fade: a curve that sweeps back from the temple, a few lines that wrap behind the ear. On my menu it's listed as an add-on at $10.

Freestyle.
Placed where the fade is shortest.
The designs on this page are freestyle lines and curves. Look at where they sit: right where the fade goes short, above and behind the ear, so the shape shows up clean against the skin.
The first one sweeps above the ear on a skin fade under a short top. The second curves behind the ear on a low fade, with texture left on top.
None of the four on this page are the same. You can bring a picture of a design you like, or tell me roughly where you want it and how bold, and we'll go from there.

Two of these are on kids.
A design is a simple way for a kid to make a plain fade their own. The two below sit on short fades with a little length left on top. One is a freestyle curve running from the temple to behind the ear. The other is a set of lines cut above the ear.
