New to Carlsbad, NM? How to Find Your Barber

New to Carlsbad, NM and looking for a barber? Check three things before you book anyone: whether their own photos show the cut you wear, whether prices and times are posted up front, and how booking works. Divinely Faded is my one-chair shop at 303 S Halagueno St, Carlsbad, NM 88220. It runs by appointment only, and every visit is booked on Booksy.

If your old barber is suddenly a few states away, this is how to settle in here without trial and error.

What to look for.

Judge the work, not the sign.

Photos of their own cuts

Look for the haircut you actually wear: the fade height, the beard work, the sharpness at the temple. My style pages show cuts from my own chair, each one named, so you can match a picture to what you want before you ever sit down.

Prices and times you can see

A posted menu means no surprise at the end. Every service I offer is listed with its price and the time Booksy holds for it, from a 30 min Express Facial to a 4 hr Color Transformation.

The same barber every time

I work solo. The person you book is the person cutting your hair, on the first visit and every one after it. Over a few appointments, that adds up to someone who already knows your cowlick and how you like the top.

Booking that respects your time

Appointments only means no sitting around waiting your turn. You pick a slot, you arrive at that time, and the chair is yours.

If home is in La Huerta or Happy Valley, the drive is a few minutes. From Artesia it is the longest on this list, about 44 minutes, so lock in the slot on Booksy before you set out rather than hoping something opens up.

The visit page has a Get Directions button that opens the route in Google Maps, along with the hours and the payment details.

03 / FIRST VISIT

Your first appointment.

From booking to the mirror.

Pick the service first on Booksy, then the time. If you only need a haircut, that is the Essential Haircut ($50, 40 min). If your beard or line-up needs work too, book the Signature Cut ($65, 45 min), which adds a hot towel finish.

Bring a photo of a cut your last barber did that you liked. A new barber can't see your haircut history, so a screenshot gets us on the same page fast. Tell me what you liked about it and what you would change.

When the cut is done, you pay in full: cash, card, Zelle or Cash App all work. If you want something extra, like a wash and scalp massage for $10, add it on Booksy when you book.

04 / THE SHOP

Who you'll be booking.

One barber, cutting since 2023.

I'm Tim Murillo, and Divinely Faded is my shop. The shop's tagline is Elevate Your Standard. To me that means the cut comes first, and the finish gets the same care as the fade.

Kids are welcome, so the whole household can book from one menu. Beyond haircuts, I do beard trims and straight razor shaves, facials, braids, hair designs, color and perms.

05 / YOUR SCHEDULE

Fitting it into your week.

New job, new routine.

Saturday runs 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM and is the one weekend day I cut. The shop is closed every Wednesday and Sunday, and weekday openings show up on Booksy as they come free.

Holidays run on my regular hours. An appointment on the holiday itself carries a $20 holiday fee on top of the service.

Something come up? Cancel or move the appointment in Booksy as soon as you know. A no-show or a late cancellation may be charged a cancellation fee.
