Men's Eyebrow Trims: What a Barber Does
A men's eyebrow trim at the barbershop shortens the long hairs and tidies the strays while keeping the shape your brows already have. It isn't a reshape, and it isn't a thin, arched brow. At my shop it's the Eyebrows add-on, $5, booked with your appointment.

Your brows, just neater.
Length
Brow hairs that grow long start to curl down toward the eye or stick straight out. They're combed up, and the ends that run past the brow line are trimmed back.
Strays
Hairs that wander away from the brow's natural line, above it or below it, are tidied so the edge reads clean.
The middle
Hair between the brows is cleaned up so two brows look like two brows. That's a cleanup, not a gap carved in.

The arch you were born with, the thickness and the overall shape all stay. A good brow trim is hard to spot. People notice you look put together; they shouldn't be able to point at your eyebrows and say why.
If you're after a dramatic change in shape, that's a different service from the one on my menu. The Eyebrows add-on is about keeping what you have clean.
Thin or patchy brows are left as they are. A trim only takes hair away; it can't add any, so if there isn't much there, there isn't much to do, and I'll tell you so.
Why a sharp cut needs it.
The face sits inside the frame.
A fresh fade and a crisp line-up pull the eye up toward your face. Long, bushy brows under a sharp hairline can make the whole look feel half finished. A quick trim brings them in line with everything else.
It shows in photos, too. A wedding, a new headshot, a family picture: the camera picks up stray brow hairs you'd never notice in the bathroom mirror.
Brows can also turn coarser and longer as the years go by, and a few long, wiry hairs can make a face look tired. A trim takes care of that without anyone noticing it was done.

The quickest way to ruin a brow is a bathroom-mirror cleanup. Plucking a gap in the middle or trimming the top edge straight across is how brows end up thin, uneven or a different shape on each side.
Brows sit between the hairline and the beard. When both of those are sharp and the brows are left alone to do their own thing, the middle of the face is what people notice. A trim at the shop ties the three together.
